Here at South Park Elementary School, we recognize just how hard our students and staff work, and we want to celebrate just how our hard work comes together to create an amazing, inspiring and successful for our Broncs to thrive and grow in! At the end of each month, we have a Leader in Me assembly to acknowledge our diligent students that have been working hard as fantastic leaders with one another and through their studies since the beginning of this new school year – and we recognize that to help our students be the best leaders they can be in our school, that means to lead by example.
For our eighth Leader in Me assembly of the school year, we proudly recognize a teacher that has helped lead students in their self-growth journeys to be their best and favorite selves in an environment where they feel loved, inspired, and empowered in both their minds and hearts!
Congratulations to an outstanding 2nd grade teacher, Kelsey Ruzicka for being nominated as Teacher of the Month for April 2025!

This nomination is something that the students themselves submit it, providing the teacher’s name of who they wish to potentially receive this award, along with providing their own reason why they believe that teacher should be recognized as the Teacher of the Month! Mrs. Ruzicka not only received a trophy labeled with Belle Fourche Elementary Teacher of the Month, applause and enthusiastic cheers from staff and students at the assembly, but also a little something to remember her impact on the lives of her students and inspire her on her diligent and passionate teacher journey: A journal to keep with her that says the truest of words - You Make a Difference!
Here’s some of the awesome things that our students have said about Mrs. Richardson, and why they nominated her:
"She is so amazing and kind."
"She makes learning fun and she was my favorite teacher."
"She makes me so excited to come to school. She is super at teaching. She believes I can do hard things."
"She is always happy to see me and always is understanding. She makes learning fun!"
"She is my aunt and I love her. She makes learning fun and helps us when things are hard."
Thank you to all our staff for continuing to inspire our students to make them excited and welcomed into our loving, inspiring, hard-working Broncs family, and thank you to the students and families that work with us to ensure everyone is seen, empowered and nurtured to be their best selves, working together as a strong, inspiring community!
Congratulations, Kelsey, on being named Teacher of the Month! Your kindness and helpfulness truly make a difference in your classroom and beyond. You always go the extra mile to support your students and fellow teachers, creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued. Your patience, encouragement, and gentle guidance help young learners grow with confidence, and your caring nature sets a beautiful example for all.
