Here at South Park Elementary School, we recognize just how hard our students and staff work, and we want to celebrate just how our hard work comes together to create an amazing, inspiring and successful for our Broncs to thrive and grow in! Each month, we have a Leader in Me assembly to acknowledge our diligent students that have been working hard as fantastic leaders with one another and through their studies since the beginning of this new school year – and we recognize that to help our students be the best leaders they can be in our school, that means to lead by example.
For this month's Leader in Me assembly, we proudly recognize a teacher that has helped lead students in their self-growth journeys to be their best and favorite selves in an environment where they feel loved, inspired, and empowered in both their minds and hearts!
Congratulations to an outstanding 2nd grade teacher, Traci Walding for being nominated as Teacher of the Month for February 2026!

This nomination is something that the students themselves submit it, providing the teacher’s name of who they wish to potentially receive this award, along with providing their own reason why they believe that teacher should be recognized as the Teacher of the Month! Mrs. Walding not only received a trophy labeled with Belle Fourche Elementary Teacher of the Month, applause and enthusiastic cheers from staff and students at the assembly, but also a little something to remember her impact on the lives of her students and inspire her on her diligent and passionate teacher journey: A journal to keep with her that says the truest of words - You Make a Difference!
Here’s some of the awesome things that our students have said about Mrs. Richardson, and why they nominated her:
"She is so nice and awesome."
" I think Mrs. Walding should be the teacher of the month because she is kind and helpful and helps my sister."
"She gives me hugs everyday."
"She cares for me. She is kind to me. She helps me when I struggle."
Thank you to all our staff for continuing to inspire our students to make them excited and welcomed into our loving, inspiring, hard-working Broncs family, and thank you to the students and families that work with us to ensure everyone is seen, empowered and nurtured to be their best selves, working together as a strong, inspiring community!
Congratulations to Mrs. Walding! Her creativity and fun, upbeat nature make her classroom an exciting place to learn each day. She brings energy, positivity, and innovative ideas that keep students engaged and smiling. She is also a supportive colleague and a natural leader, always willing to help others and contribute to our school community. We are grateful for the joy and enthusiasm she brings—well deserved!
